Get Your CAN-TAP Review Card Working in Under 5 Minutes

Good news! If you ordered from us, your NFC card is already pre-programmed to your Google Business Profile. This guide is for testing, troubleshooting, or if you need to reprogram.

Step 1: Find Your Google Review Link

First, you need your direct Google review link. Here's how to get it:

Option A: From Google Business Profile Manager

  1. Go to business.google.com
  2. Select your business location
  3. Click "Get more reviews" or find it under Home → Get more reviews
  4. Copy the link provided

Option B: Create a Short Link

  1. Go to g.page
  2. Search for your business
  3. Click "Share review form"
  4. Copy the short link (e.g., g.page/r/ABC123)

Your link should look like:
https://g.page/r/CdBCdeFgHiJkLmN/review or
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJ...

Step 2: Test Your NFC Card

Before using with customers, test that everything works:

Testing on iPhone (7 and newer)

  1. Make sure NFC is enabled (it's on by default)
  2. Hold the top of your iPhone near the NFC card
  3. A notification should appear at the top of your screen
  4. Tap the notification to open your Google review page

Testing on Android

  1. Go to Settings → Connected devices → Connection preferences → NFC
  2. Make sure NFC is turned ON
  3. Hold the back of your phone near the NFC card
  4. Your browser should open directly to the review page

Tip: The NFC antenna is usually at the top back of iPhones and center back of Android phones. Try different positions if it doesn't read immediately.

Step 3: Position Your Stand

Strategic placement maximizes reviews:

Step 4: Train Your Team

Your staff is key to getting reviews. Here's a simple training script:

What to say:

"If you enjoyed your experience, we'd love a Google review! Just tap your phone here – it takes 30 seconds and really helps us out."

When to ask:

  • After a positive comment from the customer
  • At checkout, while processing payment
  • When handing over the completed service

Troubleshooting

NFC Not Reading?

  • iPhone: Make sure you're using the top edge of the phone
  • Android: Check that NFC is enabled in settings
  • Both: Remove thick phone cases temporarily
  • Both: Make sure phone screen is unlocked

Wrong Page Opening?

  • Contact us for reprogramming (free for CAN-TAP customers)

Customer's Phone Doesn't Have NFC?

  • Point them to the QR code on the stand
  • They can scan with their camera app
  • Works on any smartphone with a camera
